Birding is slow. Birders are adding insects to their diet.
New Jersey sits on the Atlantic Flyway (a major north/south migratory route between Greenland and South America/Carribean). Many birds that travel in spring and fall do not nest here. Makes for a slow August! Nevertheless, there is still decent activity on the coast.
